With the mobile worker revolution gaining momentum, virtual offices and the iPad are helping support the trend. Mobile workers can rely on the iPad to check e-mail, do VoIP calling, log onto conference calls, surf the web, and much more with the 500,000 apps available in the App Store.
In case you haven’t had a proper introduction to the iPad, here you go: iPad’s Multi-Touch interface makes surfing the Web an entirely new experience, dramatically more interactive and intimate than on a computer. It seems everybody wants an iPhone, or some other consumer device. Even business users are eyeing consumer technology these days. So says a study from RSA, the security division of EMC.
The survey looks at the rapid use and adoption of consumer technologies like the iPhone and iPad within the enterprise and the pivotal role users are playing in driving this trend. And this trend goes hand in hand with the use of virtual office space.
“The trend toward leveraging non-corporate-controlled assets and using social media for accessing and distributing information is inevitable,” says Security for Business Innovation Council member David Kent, vice president of Global Risk and Business Resources at Genzyme. “It would be a mistake for any company to put its head in the sand or to dig in its heels; because the tide will be working against you. It would be much better to recognize it and then create the parameters to make it work for you.”
Indeed, with so many executive road warriors traveling from city to city to close the next deal, consumer technologies are sexier than many enterprise platforms. But even consumer mobile technologies alone aren’t enough to keep execs up to speed with communications these days. Long flights, and sometimes even longer layovers, demand innovative ways to keep the communication flowing with clients.
Enter virtual office technologies. Virtual office technologies, like virtual office space and virtual receptionist services, give road warriors maximum flexibility in their quest to keep the lines of communication open. With virtual office space in cities around the world, the traveling executive can tap into the convenience of day offices or conference rooms on demand. And with virtual receptionists, mobile execs don’t have to miss any important calls. Virtual receptionists can handle client calls in a professional manner, complete with offering specifics on availability.
Virtual office technologies also let traveling executives have their calls forwarded automatically to any device or any location where they are staying. The caller never knows the difference. Add to that web conferencing abilities like Cisco WebEx and the mobile executive has a cadre of virtual office technologies to at his fingertips to help him stay productive, even during flight delays.

And the winner of the iPad is… Darlene Elder. Elder won a new Apple iPad in Davinci Virtual’s iPad sweepstakes. It’s the perfect compliment to her virtual office space.
You’ve probably heard about the malicious hacker that cracked AT&T’s web site and stole 144,000 e-mail addresses, including those of White House officials, military personnel and others. But that’s not slowing down the iPad sales. It’s one of the coolest tablet devices of the summer.
If you didn’t win in the first round, don’t fret. Davinci Virtual is giving another lucky person the opportunity to win one of the tablet devices for free in its second iPad sweepstakes. The company is giving away another iPad and the drawing is September 1, 21010.

Apple’s much-anticipated iPhone 4 will be available later this month—and it’s the perfect compliment to the virtual office.
The iPhone 4 features an incredible new feature called FaceTime that brings video calling to market. It also dons Retina display, the highest resolution display ever built into a phone. That means super crisp text, images, and, yes, video. With the iPhone 4, you also get a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, HD video recording and more—all for just $199 when you sign a two-year contract with AT&T.
“iPhone 4 is the biggest leap since the original iPhone,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “FaceTime video calling sets a new standard for mobile communication, and our new Retina display is the highest resolution display ever in a phone, with text looking like it does on a fine printed page. We have been dreaming about both of these breakthroughs for decades.”
If you are a road warrior who relies on a virtual office as a home base, the iPhone 4 will help you meet your communications objectives just as well, if not better, than any smartphone device out there. With the ability to do video calling, it sets the stage for on-the-go web conferencing-type capabilities that give you a professional edge.
While you are away from your virtual office you can get up to seven hours of talk time on the new iPhone 4. And when you get back to home base you can download all the photos you took and send them to clients. You also get up to 40 hours of audio playback if you need to record parts of business meetings.
Virtual offices offer you the convenience of having a premium business address and a follow-me phone number so you don’t miss any calls while you are at lunch or in another country. And the iPhone 4 is a great choice for taking those calls, receiving your e-mail, taking photos, shooting videos and just about anything else you need to do on the thinnest ever mobile device.
If you hope to get your hands on a new iPhone 4, you may want to run by your Apple Store and pre-order it. Typically, iPhone launches leave long lines in cities like Manhattan and San Francisco. If, on the other hand, you want to reserve a virtual office space in metros like New York, the Bay Area, Miami and beyond, click here and Davinci Virtual will help you through a quick process.

As announced weeks ago, Davinci Virtual is giving away a free iPad in our iPad Sweepstakes. The drawing is going to be held on June 1—that’s just days away.
The iPad giveaway could be a boon to your virtual office. And even more so these days because the iPad is hard to come by. Indeed, spot shortages of iPads are spreading.
Analysts at Piper Jaffray reportedly called 50 Apple stores this past week. What they discovered was a “very limited” supply of iPads. Specifically, 74 percent of the stores were completely sold out all models. One hundred percent of the Apple stores were sold out of the 3G model and only 26 percent had Wi-Fi models left to sell.
So if you’ve been thinking about adding an iPad to your virtual office arsenal, well, you’d better start calling Apple stores in your area in a hurry. And if you discover that your virtual office mobile productivity dreams are shattered by the short supply, hurry up and enter Davinci Virtual’s iPad sweepstakes.
You don’t have to be a Davinci Virtual office customer to enter the sweepstakes. Just click here and fill out the form you find on the page. Full disclosure: a Davinci Virtual office representative will contact you to find out more about how a virtual office can meet your business needs. You’ll find a no-pressure, educational approach.
If you’ve been hankering for an iPad and can’t find one, taking a moment to learn about Davinci’s virtual offices could pave the way for you to receive a shiny new iPad. And, what’s even better, it could pave the way for a virtual office system that helps you drive the productivity you need to remain competitive.
Can the iPad really be used for business purposes? Check out this video and decide for yourself:
Did you hear about Apple’s latest acquisition?
The iPad-maker just snapped up Siri. I know…I had never heard of the company either. But it’s actually pretty interesting. Siri makes an iPhone app known as the Siri Assistant, which is in essence a personal virtual assistant.
Siri understands what you say, can accomplish tasks for you and adapts to your preferences. For example, you can ask Siri to find an exotic vacation venue, a local rock concert, or tickets to the movie for the weekend. Check out a quick video on Siri so you can get the full picture:
Of course, Siri can’t replace your flesh and bones virtual assistant. But for consumers who are savvy to virtual office technologies that help them be more productive, Siri is a fun app. It goes hand in hand with the virtual office lifestyle. With some verbal commands, you can book a taxi, find out the weather, locate the nearest gas station and so on.
I like to think Siri can compliment the virtual office user’s cadre of technologies, tools and gadgets. Let’s say you work from a virtual office and you are used to being always connected to the Internet. You drive to another city for a business meeting and you don’t know where anything is. Siri can help you find what you are looking for with verbal commands instead of having to do a mobile Internet search.
Again, Siri won’t replace your virtual assistant. But it can be more convenient than dialing up your virtual assistant while you are traveling. And it can add another weapon in your virtual office arsenal that makes you more productive at work and at play.
By the way, if you don’t have an iPad yet, you can register to win a free iPad from Davinci Virtual. The drawing will be held on June 1. With your free iPad, you can install your Siri application and try it for yourself!
Did you hear the news about Norway’s prime minister running the country from his new iPad? I figure if a government official can oversee the complex issues of national government from a remote location, you and I can certainly do every day business from a virtual office.
According to AP reports, Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg governed remotely with his iPad while stranded abroad by a volcanic ash cloud. The prime minister used his iPad to conduct government business after his flight from New York was canceled on Thursday.
With a virtual office, you can continue conducting business amid any delay or emergency. And you don’t even need an iPad. Virtual offices give you a prestigious business address with 800 or local numbers that are answered and forwarded to your mobile phone or other remote location anywhere in the world.
A virtual office gives you the freedom and flexibility to do business while on the run in Atlanta, in a home office in San Francisco, or even while on vacation in Hawaii. A virtual office can also give small business owners the benefit of having a physical office, and you can even tap into administrative support and catering services and have your business listed in the lobby directory.
As we announced earlier this week, Davinci Virtual offers virtual office space in every state in the United States and in many locations around the world. So whether you are an American who needs virtual office space Norway or a Norwegian who needs virtual office space in New York, Davinci has you covered.
Check out this video and see how an iPad could compliment your virtual office set up. And register to win a free iPad from Davinci Virtual.
